i found a great book which has the 3000 most commonly used characters in simplifed and traditional.
Learning characters can drive you nuts, because there hundreds of the damned things and they never
seem to end.
This book is great because it gives you a clear goal to achieve. Once you have mastered this one
book, then your reading will be good.
I am damned if I want to learn more than 3000, so if I can master this book then I am able to read
99% of common printed material including newspapers.
A little expensive but remember it will take at least 1.5 years to learn 3000 characters well, so
that book will see a lot of use.
